Hebrews 11:24-40

24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.
26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
28 By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.
29 By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days.
31 By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.
35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 
 37 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.
39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
  • Lord let there be a new sitted loyalty to Jesus in our hearts
  • There is a call to love Jesus in the midst of challenges or else believers all over the world will be discouraged and disappointed  because of all the hardships coming to the believers
PERSECUTED CHURCH OF THE WORLD
Revelation 12:11
11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
  • We will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony   
Ephesians 3:16
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
  • Lord we pray that you give  strength on the inside to all the believers in the world that are being persecuted for their resolve to follow Jesus
  • We pray that courage and boldness will arise and that they will soar up on high like eagles
Isaiah 40:31
31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
  • Lord we pray that the believers will not be held back but that with boldness they will proclaim what they believe even if it means to face death or otherwise
  • We pray we as the believers will be found faithful before our God and saviour
John 12:24
24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
  • That  the seed has to  fall to the ground and die; then that’s the only way it produces many seeds
  • Believers should be willing to lay down their rights; Lord we ask for grace, faith will arise and that they will be willing to suffer for the sake of the gospel in whatever form the persecution may take
  • Lord we pray that you increase our faith and give us a spirit of perseverance
  • We pray that you equip the body of Christ with the spirit of wisdom, knowledge
  • We pray that suffering and hardship will not discourage us but this will increase our faith in you Lord
TURKEY
  • That in this country of 75million people there are only 4,000 Christians and that the government requires the identity cards of the citizens to include their religion that is Muslim or Christian
  • This leads to outright persecution for Christians when they are searching for employment
  • Lord we pray for these 4,000 followers of Jesus Christ, we pray for faithfulness, that they will not denounce their faith in you in the midst of persecution
  • We know that we do not understand why you choose persecution to be thrust for church growth in the world, but them your word tells us your ways are not our ways, your thoughts are not our thoughts
Isaiah 55:8-9
8 for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, “declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, 
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
  • Lord even though we do not understand your ways; help us to align our hearts to what you are doing, that whether we live or die that your name will be glorified
  • Strengthen our resolve to follow you in Jesus name we pray,amen
